Instructor’s Report

The ICTF Seminar and Kup Grading was 6 Months in the planning. GM Steiner had accepted our invitation following his visit earlier in the year to Mr.Crawley V Degree in Merseyside. Following a 10 hour flight from Miami through Newark, GM Steiner and Master Fruitstone finally arrived in Leeds. We were honoured to a 3 hour Grading where all Students were comprehensively assessed and all 98 passed their Examination. This was followed by the annual awards where 12 Students were presented with Glass Trophies by the Grandmaster himself. We then had the privilege of a 4 Hour Seminar, practising Fundamental Exercises, Turning, Lines and Directions. All of us had the pleasure increasing our Knowledge. The following day, the Black Belts were honoured to train with Master Cook at a Historic Meeting near Newcastle. The origins of TaeKwon-Do Patterns and Techniques were explained and we practised several devastating applications of what we all thought were Basic Techniques. We were all awed by Master Cook’s comprehensive library which included a copy of the original 1960’s version of the TaeKwon-Do encyclopedia - A Rare Opportunity to experience our History and Origins.

    

  

All Students were well drilled in Facings and Turning, as well as Spot Turning and Pivoting.

 

Report from Keyleigh & Abigail Priestley

“Hi, this is Keyleigh (Age 8) and Abigail (Age 5); we have been doing Taekwon-do now for nearly one year in March 2008. We are about to go for our grading 6th kup Green belt. We both really enjoy it and train 5 nights a week, we would do more but we have school work as well .

When we first started the lessons we both were a little hesitant and scared, but as time has gone on we both feel confident and enjoy doing what we do. Our instructors are brilliant and we like them very much, if we are unsure of any patterns etc we know we can approach them with ease and they both will guide us through what we need to know. We have recently received our sparring kits, which we both love.

We would really recommend anyone and everyone to do Taekwon-do if they were looking for a self defence class, it is awesome . We will be doing it for many more years to come, we have a 4 month old brother who will also be starting to train as soon as he is old enough.  TaeKwon.”
